Casual or Formal
It is my observation that, depending on where women currently reside, sarees are increasingly considered formal dress, as opposed to everyday casual wear. The question I was often asked (as I wear sarees all the time) was whether it was comfortable. The perception that the yards are cumbersome, I suppose, is what needs to be addressed. When they become more formal, the weight of the saree will also play a role, e.g. cotton vs kanjivaram silks.
Our dream is to once again see sarees as a natural part of daily life - easy and elegant.
